Bereavement and Loss Counselling
We offer bereavement and loss counselling in Upper Rissington, Bloxham and online.
Losing someone or something important to you can change how you experience almost every part of life. You may feel sadness, anger, guilt, numbness or a sense of being lost. Sometimes these feelings can be overwhelming, at other times, you may find yourself carrying on while struggling to make sense of what has happened.
We understand that grief is personal. There is no single way to feel and no fixed timetable for coming to terms with a loss. Your relationship with the person who has died may have been close, complicated or difficult, and there may be feelings or unfinished conversations that are hard to share with others.
Loss can also take many forms beyond bereavement. You may be experiencing the end of a relationship, pregnancy loss, the death of a pet, estrangement from family or changes to your health, identity or the future you had imagined. You may also be living with the knowledge that someone close to you is approaching the end of their life.
Our approach is compassionate, relational and tailored to you. We offer space to talk openly about your experience, explore what the loss means to you and understand how it is affecting your everyday life and relationships. You will be met without judgement or pressure to feel differently.
For some people, therapy may involve exploring painful memories, guilt or unanswered questions. For others, it may be about adjusting to changed circumstances, navigating anniversaries or having somewhere to speak about someone they miss. Whether your loss is recent or happened many years ago, we will work at a pace that feels right for you.
Our aim is to help you feel supported in your grief and find your own way forward, while making room for the memories, relationships and feelings that remain important to you.
