People rarely come to therapy with just one thing going on.

You might be struggling with anxiety, but underneath that there may be a relationship that isn’t working, something that happened years ago, grief you haven’t really had the chance to deal with, or simply a sense that life has become harder than it should be.

That’s why we don’t expect you to arrive knowing exactly what kind of therapy you need. You don’t need to diagnose yourself, choose the right label, or even be particularly good at explaining what’s wrong. Sometimes “I’m not really sure, I just know something needs to change” is more than enough to start with.

At Therapy Partnership, we offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults from our practice in Upper Rissington, in the North Cotswolds, Gloucestershire. We work with a broad range of difficulties, from anxiety, depression and bereavement through to trauma, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity and experiences that are much harder to put neatly into a category.

The areas below are some of the things we work with most often. They aren’t boxes you need to fit yourself into. Have a look through them if it’s helpful, but if none of them quite describes what’s happening for you, that doesn’t mean we can’t help.

The best place to start is usually a conversation.

Not sure where you fit?

That’s completely fine. Therapy doesn’t need to begin with a diagnosis or a perfectly worked-out reason for coming. We can start with what’s happening now and work it out together.

You can book an initial assessment with one of us to talk about what has brought you here, what you’re hoping might change, and whether we feel like the right service for you.
